MakerLodge Checkoff

Students who already have hands–on experience and knowledge of some of the MakerLodge tools can test out of MakerLodge training by taking a Checkoff.
To be eligible for a checkoff, we expect you to be able to demonstrate safe usage of the tool, know the safety hazards related to it, and talk to us a bit about the things you’ve made with that tool in the past.
Please only sign up for a checkoff if you can test out of 2 or more of the following tools:

3D Printer — Laser Cutter — Band Saw — Drill Press — Belt/Disc Sander

In-person checkoff sessions will be scheduled by the 3rd week of the term

Step 2

Review the study guide(s) for the tools you plan to test out of.

Optional: Review the online course materials for those tools as well.

Step 3

Sign up for and attend one in-person Checkoff. Be sure that the event has “Checkoff” in the title!

Step 5

After receiving email confirmation that you passed, stop by Metropolis during open hours to pick up your Toolbox, T–shirt and Arduino nano. (No appointment needed).

Your MakerBucks and training credentials will automatically be applied to your account!
